Saving You Some Time...

Reports are coming up...

I predict lots of writing things like: "working towards" or "working within"... over and over...

If only there was a way to speed this up...

Enjoy!

Using Tracker In Your Teaching

Here are some very brief videos showing how to make use of School Pupil Tracker (or any other tracking software) as part of your teaching routine.

You'll be pleased to know there is no sound... look out for the call-outs.

The videos assume you've logged-in and that you've selected your class.

I've used Year 1 here, for no other reason than there is a mix of achieved and not achieved in the strands which shows some examples I wanted to.

If the screen resolution isn't brilliant, don't panic, just go and follow the steps with your own class!

If you're not already following these steps, every week, then it's time for you to be doing so! You can't update everything all the time but you do need to be updating regularly and using those judgements in your planning.

Assessing - Why and How?

A short video on the merits of regular assessment and the use of tracking software.

There will be a follow-up post with some step-by-steps for updating Tracker.

Be Aware of the Beige

We all want our children's attitudes to learning to be brilliant. We want them to be engaged, enthusiastic and excited.

It's up to us to make sure that our lessons are created so that they are able to feel these qualities.

Where does this happen? Where are the roots of these attitudes?

Staff meeting tonight will focus on these questions and more!

Happy New Year and Success Criteria

Happy New Year to you all. I hope you are all well rested and ready for the year ahead.

Please find below a short video about Success Criteria. It's about how we may have become confused about their use in school and what our expectations are at SPS.

There will be a follow-up, taking things a little further (how they can be used at different stages of schooling etc.) but this is a first go.
